Advisory Board

Serving on Think Act Lead's Advisory Board are nationally-recognized scholars and some of south Florida's finest teachers, community activists, and young leaders. The Board serves three-year terms and provides advice and feedback on TAL initiatives.

Barbara Asher teaches social studies at American Heritage School in Delray Beach, Florida, where she is also the advisor to student clubs and an active participant in politics.

Nikkia DeLuz completed her MA in Political Science at Florida Atlantic University and is a social studies teacher in Florida and emerging young leader in the field of education.

Tom Difiglio is a former department chair and current AP Psychology teacher at Spanish River High School in Boca Raton, Florida, who is an advocate for civil rights, educational reform, environmental protection, and other political issues.

Anthony Eksterowicz, Ph.D. is a Professor of Political Science and the Presidency at James Madison University, the Co-editor of the journal White House Studies , and the author or editor of six books and over 45 scholarly articles.

Michael Fallik has a background in journalism, a BA degree from the University of Florida, and has both traveled throughout the developing world and studied the consequences of agricultural industrialization in grad school. He lives in Washington, DC and is a young leader putting his passion to work on Capitol Hill.

Sean McCluskie, Ph.D. has a law degree from George Washington University and a doctorate from the University of Maryland, and has served for many years as a senior aide in Congress, working on such as issues as welfare, health care, and social policy.

William Pederson, Ph.D. is a Professor of Political Science, the American Studies Endowed Chair, and Director of the International Lincoln Center at Louisiana State University in Shreveport, and the author of numerous books on Abraham Lincoln and topics in American politics and history.

Anita Pritchard, Ph.D. is a Professor of Political Science and former Chair of the Department of Political Science at Florida Atlantic University, and the author of several publications on the Congress.

Abby Ross studied Political Science at Florida Atlantic University and has worked on many political campaigns and with the College Democrats, and is currently an aide to State Senator Dave Aronberg in Florida.

Donald Simmons, Ph.D. is the Director of the George McGovern Center, a Professor of History, and Chair of the Department of Leadership and Public Service at Dakota Wesleyan University.

Max Skidmore, Ph.D. is the University of Missouri Curators' Professor of Political Science and Thomas Jefferson Fellow at the University of Missouri at Kansas City, a former Distinguished Fulbright Lecturer and Senior Fulbright Scholar, and the author of many books and scholarly articles on American government, presidential politics, Social Security, Medicare, and other issues.

Nick Tilsner , who is in his twenties and a graduate of Florida Atlantic University, where he studied Political Science, is active in political campaigns, unions, and stem cell research advocacy.

Reva Tucker is the President of the Greater Boca Raton Democratic Club, a member of the Democratic Executive Committee of Palm Beach County, and a political activist based in Boca Raton, Florida.

Steve West is a business and social entrepreneur with a background in residential construction, civil rights, anti-hunger advocacy, and grassroots political activism, who runs the Forum series on political issues at Vizcaya in Delray Beach, Florida.
