A SUSTAINABLE ENERGY POLICY: AMERICA'S ECONOMIC SECURITY

• We must make a commitment to increasing fuel economy standards in automobiles, which will save more oil than would be produced through drilling in the Alaskan National Wildlife Refuge
  
  
• We need R&D programs for clean, renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, hydroelectric, biomass, geothermal, and agricultural byproducts
  
  
• I oppose any effort to drill for oil off Florida's coastline, which would destroy our sandy beaches, coral reefs, and vibrant tourist economy
